  Green Hill Zone Level 2
Posted by: Rocks the Squirrel - 01-14-2016, 01:54 PM - Forum: Grid Status and Updates - No Replies

I will be moving down my build of GHZ Level 2 in the next day or so.

Some things I added are a work in progress Running Loop and Speed Strips that make you run in the different directions. Magma would most likely add his Spring Boards around the area. If you have any ideas on other stuff to add, please comment down below.

One thing I am working on but need to look into an easier way to make someone sit on object (May have to look into RLV for it) is the corkscrew loop. I know I can make it now but want to make it easier on the user to do it instead of clicking to do it.

If you have a shop, please come move it or the items may get returned as the new shops are a different size.

Exclamation Mobius Grid Issues
Posted by: Timothy Hoxley - 12-21-2015, 04:42 PM - Forum: Grid Status and Updates - Replies (1)

Upon further investigation, we have discovered recent issues have been a result of packet loss on Mobius Grid. This explains some of the strange behavior you may have been noticing:

  • Randomly falling through the ground
  • Randomly not seeing an attachment you are wearing
  • Timing out or very long teleports/region crossings
We have contacted the datacenter, as we have determined the issues to be with either the NIC Card or a Switch at the datacenter. They are aware of the issue, however due to it is so close to Christmas, which is celebrated in the USA where this datacenter is, I am not sure how long it will take for this issue to be rectified.

UPDATE: The datacenter has found the issue, the NIC was not installed correctly. This issue has since been resolved!

Smile Winter has come !
Posted by: CycloneRock - 12-13-2015, 09:53 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Winter is come on the Mobius Grid!

The Mobius Grid website lays under a blanket of snow.
The snow falling on the page falls randomly, from slowly falling to a little snowstorm.
has also some of the main charachters displayed on a snowy scenery from a level.
All characters are animated and are in a loop.
The layout has a new coat, Also there will come some patches  for this website haswell.

I do hope you all like the new scenery of the website.
I try very hard my best to maintain it and giving it a great look!
do let me know what you think of the new look for this years winter layout.

Sincerly Skyfist / Clycone Rock.

Photo A winterly image
Posted by: CycloneRock - 11-22-2015, 10:21 PM - Forum: Help - No Replies

Im Cyclone Rock,
For all those with skills on making objects on  Mobius Grid i have some thing special to ask for.
has some know i work on the layout and  for this  layout it will be winter themed so i thought instead of searching images why not put a few residents of the Mobius Grid itself on the layout, why not!

so i was wondering if people could  make winter themed or christmast themed clothes and/or items for there own charachters or others  it doesnt matter.Take a lovely pose that you think would findt and upload the image on this thread.

Again this is for the background scenery of the layout.

So have fun creating!

  Fitted Mesh Skeleton
Posted by: Royale Mobian - 11-10-2015, 09:26 PM - Forum: Builder Resources - Replies (4)

The Mobius Grid like Second Life utilizes mesh for various scenery, avatar attachments and much more. We encource users to learn to make mesh items as it is far more optimal then prims builds. Mobius Grid is compatible with the Second Life skeleton this post contains info from Linden Lab the creators of Second Life.

What is Fitted Mesh?
Fitted Mesh is a technique in which an avatar's collision bones are used to add further deformation detail to an avatar or clothing. The benefit of this technique is that it allows Mesh clothing and avatars to be adjusted using an avatar's Body Shape sliders in the Appearance Editor. This results in clothing that can adjust and fit to your avatar's own personal body shape and style.
For content creators, the key difference between a Fitted Mesh skeleton and the previous standard skeleton is that a Fitted Mesh skeleton has more bones. The rigging workflow is the same except that the additional collision bones are also included in the skinning/binding process. Note that unlike the mBones, you do not need to include all of the collision bones, rather only the ones you wish to use.

Collision bones
List of original collision bones:

  • BELLY *
  • NECK
  • HEAD
  • L_HAND
  • R_HAND
  • L_FOOT
  • R_FOOT
Collision bones added with Fitted Mesh
  • BUTT *
  • LEFT_PEC *

Note: BELLY, BUTT, LEFT_PEC, and RIGHT_PEC are affected by avatar physics.

"HANDLE bones have been left in the avatar_skeleton.xml file to support those that may want to use them but removed from the Maya/FBX skeleton files since they are redundant." [1]

Rigging using the Fitted Mesh technique
  1. Download one of the skeleton files.
  2. Follow one of the many tutorials for rigging avatars in your modeling program of choice. (Where?)
  3. Export your new rigged mesh from your modeling program of choice:
  4. Import the rigged mesh to Second Life and wear the model, as described in Uploading and wearing a rigged mesh.
  5. Adjust your body shape, make sure to save your changes, and enjoy your creation.
    • Information on changing your avatar’s appearance and body shape can be found in the Second Life Knowledge Base, under Controlling your avatar’s appearance, and by clicking the ? button at the top of the Appearance editor.
The Skeleton is attached in a .zip
